Brick Chimney with New Copper Flashing
Chimney rebuilt from the roofline up with sweat-soldered copper step flashing and a new cricket. Greater Boston project by Art Slate.
This chimney was showing efflorescence on the interior wall — the white, chalky bloom that means water is tracking down inside the masonry. The cause was a failed crown and rusted-out step-flashing. We took it down to the roofline and rebuilt it right.
